• Question: Why does classical music help children to work?

      Personally, i think silence can be deafening and in itself a distraction so I always have some music on, albeit not classical.
      Classical music helps because there is no distinct beat or lyrics which can be distracting. it would be a bit distracting if your sat doing your work then suddenly “your jam” comes on and you have to belt it out or tap to the beat, then it reminds you of another song which you have to listen to, call your significant other and play it down the phone saying this is our song, so on and so fourth. Suddenly 5 hours later after your own personal ipod concert, you then hit the books. Also, generally classical music is supposed to be calming. A calm mind is more productive, which helps. The above is my opinion, but there are loads of articles on the interwebs that can explain in a bit more detail then i can on this one.
